Ep. 007 — brbr_coeur
About brbr_coeur
Before brbr_coeur, there was BARBREAKER. The name changed, the raw material did not: an ear raised on the horns of industrial music, on grinding brass and saturated machines. You can still hear it in the way he selects, always a little rust around the edges.
His playground fits in no box. Mutant techno, filthy breakbeat, Latin-core, Memphis rap bass: anything goes, as long as it makes people sweat. The goal he claims himself is to pull the sweat out of human beings. No contemplation, just movement.
Away from the decks, he is part of Criminightz, the collective he runs with Chantal Bouillave and Juicy Juice, walking its trap punk rave across the Montpellier scene. He also hosts Quartier BRE/SOM on Piñata Radio, a show that connects the darkest and most experimental corners of every genre.
For this episode 007, he rolls out 1h12 built on the break. The breakbeat refuses to fall in line, halfstep slows the grid down without ever dropping the tempo, and the space between two hits becomes the most interesting part of the track. Plenty of empty room, sub-bass filling all of it.
